Roberta Meakin

Pickleball Instructor:

As an advanced level tennis player, Roberta Meakin has had years of private lessons and training. She competed in many tournaments in the Okanagan Valley area in both singles and doubles. These tennis skills were highly transferrable into the sport of Pickleball. She began playing pickleball in 2011, where she started as a 4.5 level player and won 3 Canadian Nationals Silver medals in 2013 & 2014. Roberta was made a 5.0 player in 2015, after winning back to back Gold medals. Her latest medal was in Ladies doubles Gold last year at the Provincials Tournament. Now she focuses on sharing her vast knowledge and experience with her students as a Professional Instructor.

She has taught pickleball in the Okanagan Valley since 2013 in Recreation centres: Osoyoos, Oliver, Okanagan Falls, Penticton, Peachland, W.Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country and both Vernon and Kelowna Pickleball Clubs. Currently she teaches in West Kelowna and Penticton. She runs group classes designed by herself for Beginner to High Intermediate level players. She was a Classical Ballet Instructor and enjoys using her detailed understanding of movement in her hands on approach to pickleball lessons.

This is Roberta’s 3 rd year coaching for the Kelowna Club. She will help any level player become the best that they can be. She specializes in coaching tournament partners and teaching Semi-Private lessons for 2-4 people where she can work on mental toughness/focus to reduce errors during play,
