PKC 2021 Membership Registration

Hello Pickleballers,
The Pickleball Kelowna Club (PKC) is very excited to launch a new season of club pickleball play, offering court reservations, lessons, and performance-based league play. Leagues are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. We will be using two new software programs this year as we transition from 2019, our last operating season, towards our still proposed and planned for Fall Opening 2022 Facility. This e-newsletter will provide you an overview of PKC 2021. For our 2021 club season there will be NO drop-in times, NO club organized skill rated group round robins, NO pickleballs provided for club play, and NO ratings other than what you earn in League Play.
2021 COVID 19 Rules and Restrictions:
All club play will comply with the PHO COVID protocols. Please review the PKC "Covid Protocols" in "Documents to Download". If typical play is not allowed, all club members reserved club court playtime will offer singles only, the exception being doubles where the partner is from the same household. League Play will offer skinny singles and Friday Partner Play will be doubles only if the partner is from the same household.
Registration for PCO:
All Pickleball Kelowna Club members are required to have a current Pickleball Canada (PCO) and Pickleball B.C. (PBC) membership. You need to register,
renew and pay your fees for both PCO and PBC directly to them. Detailed PCO registration instructions are in "Update #2 PCO Registration".

PKC 2021 Membership Registration:
This year, your Pickleball Kelowna Club (PKC) membership renewal will be through a new software program, the management system for all PKC registrations
and court reservations. To register for PKC, click on the link below, create a member profile and then pay the registration fee for PKC. Please be
aware that return emails from the software program may go to your ‘SPAM’ folder. If you do not receive your registration confirmation by email, click
on your SPAM folder and add the sender to your email contacts. Once this is done, emails from this software will not be recognized as SPAM.
Member Only Club Online Reservation Booking Parameters:
Once you have completed your registration and paid, your PKC membership is activated and you can start making your bookings for the 2021 season from
May 1-September 30.
To provide all club members with an opportunity to play, these booking parameters have been created see "Documents to Download" and then "Court Booking Instructions".
Other Information:
Within these booking parameters, courts will be released if a booking is not complete, if a player cancels, or if the league courts are not full. Courts
therefore will become available throughout the week, for players that still have playtime available. This system should give club members the flexibility
to book courts by planning ahead or by booking courts that open up a few days before the playdate.
For Club Members interested in playing in a Performance-Based League as one, two, or 3 of your 3 playtime limit from Sunday to Saturday the detailed information is in "Documents to Download" please review "Update #4 League Registration and Information", also see "Step by Step League Registration Instructions". The league times are indicated on the "View Court Schedule".
For Club members, PKC Beginner Lessons #1, #2, #3 typically taken one week after another, will be offered Monday’s 4 pm-6 pm & 6 pm-8 pm starting May 3rd. These can be found in your Member Portal, the Home Page with your name on it. "Register for Lessons and Leagues". Later in the season Intermediate and Advanced lessons will be available. Lessons can be purchased ONLY on the PKC Member Portal, and only after you have become a PKC 2021 Member. These lessons are not part of your 3 playtime limit. They are always very popular, so book early.
Public Court times are available to all Pickleball Players and are indicated in yellow, on the "Court Schedule" found in "Documents to Download" and also posted on the www.pickleballkelowna.com website, go to PKC Info - Court Schedule. All public play reservations will continue to be handled by Sport Kelowna.
The PKC Executive understands this update contains a lot of information and that it will take a while for PKC members to become familiar with this new system.
The PKC executive will support members as we make the transition to our new reservation and league system. It is recommended that you save or print this document for future reference.
